The donation took place at the Police headquarters in Accra.

The board Chairman of the Ghana National Bureau-ECOWAS Brown Card Insurance Scheme, Mr Henry Bukari, led the delegation to make the donation. He was in the company of some members of the Bureau including Mr Patrick Agyekum, CEO/Gen. Secretary, and Mr Michael Owusu, Senior Claims Manager.
In making the donation, Mr Bukari remarked that the Police force and the MTTD have played a vital role in the activities of the Bureau, especially in ensuring safety on our international roads and during road accidents involving motorists from other West African States. He added that, these items are to motivate the personnel of the MTTD in the execution of their duties.

In receiving the donations, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr Aboagye Nyarko, Director General of MTTD, commended the Ghana National Bureau-ECOWAS Brown Card Insurance Scheme for the kind gesture and lauded the Bureau for the series of trainings it has organized for the force which will effectively help in the discharge of their duties.

The Director General of the MTTD used the medium to appeal to the driving public to guard against indiscipline and obey traffic regulations to reduce carnage on our roads.

He also cautioned owners of long distance vehicles to adhere to the Road Traffic Regulations LI 2180, which compels long distance vehicles to always have two drivers to ensure that no long distance driver drives tired, thereby reducing road accidents.
